FAQ

Why is Cotton so popular?

Cotton is known for its naturally soft feel and breathable fabrics. Hence, many consider it as the best choice for bedding. 100% Cotton also helps resist allergens because it is naturally hypoallergenic.

What is Percale?

Percale is a type of a weave for fabric construction where the yarns are laid out one over and one under with a ratio of 1:1. This creates a tight knit structure that is smooth and durable with a naturally matte look. Percale is also easy to care and wears exceptionally well with time.

What is thread count?

Thread count refers to the horizontal and vertical threads per square inch of fabric, measuring fabric density. Percale thread counts are usually lower because the plain weave allows for fewer threads in a square inch making percale lighter and cooler, which is preferable in hotter temperatures or for hot sleepers. The lower-range thread count is appreciated for its breathability and durability. If the sheets aren't 100% cotton with single-ply weaves, chances are thread counts are either misleading or irrelevant.

Please keep in mind that thread count is not the best indicator of quality. The variety of cotton, length of cotton fibres and construction of yarns (singly-ply vs. multi-ply) used are all very important contributors to good quality.

This is why we strictly use long staple cotton fibres and weave them as single-ply yarns making our cotton sheets more comfortable and durable.

How deep are your fitted sheets?

Our sheets fit mattresses up to 15 inches deep

Do I need to wash the sheets before first use?

We recommend that you wash your new sheets prior to the first use.

Are your sheets OEKO-TEX certified?

Our 100% cotton percale sheets are OEKO-TEX certified. OEKO-TEX tests for harmful substances which are prohibited or regulated by law, and for chemicals which are known to be harmful to health. They also test for color fading and acidity as a precautionary measure to safeguard health at every stage of production.

Is your packaging eco-friendly?

We believe in using sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging. Our PVC packaging and paper insert in the packaging are recyclable and to reduce our carbon footprint we have eliminated the paperboard stiffener that most sheet companies use to fold their sheets over in packaging.

What is the best way to care for your Percale sheets?

Our percale sheets are super easy to care for. Here’s a step-by-step guide to washing your sheets at home

- It is best to use a gentle cycle with mild detergent and warm water to properly care for your sheets and to extend their longevity

- Make sure you remove your sheets from the washing machine promptly to avoid excessive wrinkling

- On a dryer, use the low/medium setting. We recommend removing your sheets from the dryer five minutes before the cycle ends and laying them flat to dry. This way the sheets will not wrinkle as much and would not need ironing. Hanging your sheets on a clothesline to dry also avoids wrinkles

- Use a bleach only when absolutely necessary
